Frequent Tattoo Makeup Questions
Does it Hurt?
Topical anesthetics are used throughout the procedure. Discomfort is minor. Your comfort is my priority, if you are relaxed it is easier for me to work.
Is the Procedure Safe?
Your safety and comfort are my highest concern. Sterile, single use needles are used with every client. In fact, everything I use for each client is disposable.
How Long Does the Procedure Take?
We will talk about shape and color before we start your procedure. We will both be absolutely certain about color and shape before I start. You can come in with your make up on, or we can draw it on in my office. Each procedure takes an hour to an hour and a half.
How Long Is the Down Time Following a Procedure?
Depending on your age, you might be slightly sore or itchy at the sight of the procedure for between 3 and 7 days. When you leave my office your make up will be too dark, the right shape and color – just too much of it! You are perfectly capable of driving home, working out, working whatever. After a day or two, the tattoo will be slightly itchy as it is healing. You can wear your normal moisturizers, sunscreens and powders immediately after your appointment. So you really don’t have to have any ‘down time’.
How Will I Decide on the Right Color for Me?
Well, that is sortof what you are paying me for! I will ask you to bring in your favorite lipstick, or eyebrow pencil and we will start there. I have every color, and can mix and match anything you desire. Like I said, we won’t start until you are absolutely certain about color and shape.
How Long Does Permanent Make Up Last?
Anywhere from 2 to 10+ years, depending on your age, skin coloring and lifestyle. Sun exposure and salt water tend to lessen the life of permanent make up, but if you have an active lifestyle, you will not mind the occasional touch-up!
